This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.
Candy McLellan (she/her), a multifaceted artist based in Atlanta, who has been taking the city by storm for almost a decade. As a graduate of the University of West Georgia and a professional acting apprentice at Aurora Theatre, McLellan’s extensive repertoire spans singing, dancing, stage and TV/film acting, choreography, directing, casting, and teaching. Just this fall, Candy has been kept busy with roles in Theatrical Outfit’s “Passing Strange” and co-directing “Wait Until Dark” at Georgia Ensemble Theatre. This follows a year filled with varied roles, including performances in “Tiny Beautiful Things” and “The Play that Goes Wrong,” along with directing engagements. Known for her versatility, McLellan challenges gender norms by playing six different characters in “Passing Strange.” Her impressive career includes recent directing credits such as “The Niceties” and “Christmas in July,” with upcoming projects like “Junie B Jones the Musical” and “It’s a Wonderful Life: Live Radio Play.” Follow her artistic journey on IG: @candymcloveme.
