In Level 1, you’ll learn the FUN-damentals of improv (as you may have guessed). You’ll learn building-block skills like “Yes And”, listening, quick thinking, collaboration, and more which are skills that benefit anyone with any endeavor, performative or not. Come build community, build confidence, and have some laughs along the way!
Level 3 is a deep dive into the collaborative and spontaneous storytelling techniques that were introduced in the previous levels. Getting into the nitty gritty of the craft, you’ll learn how to confidently and consistently create improvised characters, scenes, and worlds at a high level.

Instructor Info: Avery Sharpe-Steele is an actor, writer, and improviser from Atlanta, GA. People aren’t actually from Atlanta anymore so he takes extra pride in that pseudo-accomplishment. He’s a proud ensemble member at the award-winning Dad’s Garage Theatre where he regularly performs improvised and scripted work, and he regularly coaches improv at every level from 3rd graders to professional performers to corporate big wigs. Some of his favorite educational work is a program called Improving Care Through Improv, a partnership with the Georgia State Gerontology Institute. This program teaches improv skills to caretakers of dementia patients, which studies are showing greatly boosts positive connection and engagement between patients and caregivers. As an improviser, he would say his specialty is character work, and his Achilles heel is pop culture. Fun facts: he owns 8 chickens and 2 bunnies, and he once ate 14 pancakes in one sitting.
